The Bercott name has been in the jewellery business since 1904. Started by my grandfather, Saul Bercott, and then followed on by my father. In these days our business was retail and the Bercott shops were always known as the shops that had unique pieces of jewellery.

My story begins in 1960 when I was born and I was brought up with the talk of jewellery around the dinner table at night. At an early age I was fascinated and wanted to learn more and work in the shops. Eventually when I was 15 I worked on Saturdays and holidays in the business. In my early 20s I studied diamonds and qualified in Gemmology.

After nearly 100 years in retailing we sold the shops and it was at this stage I started to make bespoke pieces for the retail trade, but in 2013 decided to go back to my original routes of retailing but this time the modern way.

I decided not to have a fancy shop with lots of expensive stock and created instead a showroom that all customers would feel comfortable and relaxed coming into. The key thing about my business and what makes it so unique is the customers are getting a one-to-one service with a booked appointment system.
Looking to the future my son has now started working with me in the business so the Bercott name and old fashioned level of service is set to continue through to another generation.
